State still seeking relocation site for Moccasin Bend mental health facility

Tennessee has evaluated over 100 possible sites for replacement of the aging Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute in Chattanooga. But despite that work, no decision has been made as to where the state’s only mental health facility in East Tennessee will be located, state Sen.

Ruby Rayner is the politics reporter for the Chattanooga Times Free Press. She previously worked as a reporter and then became the New York news editor for The River Reporter in Upstate, NY where her work has been recognized by the New York Press Association.

Ruby holds a degree in geography with a minor in political science from Clark University and attended the London School of Economics.
